Teaching is not just my job, it's my calling.
In high school, I read French grammars in my spare time. In college and grad school, I shifted my interests eastward, and my specialties became Russian and Czech.
I have taught at schools in the Northeast, South, West, and Midwest. Since 1998 I have been a faculty member in the Slavic Department at the UW-Madison. There was a time when I thought that I would remain there for the rest of my career.
But sometimes life throws you curveballs, and mine came in the form of an amendment to Wisconsin's constitution that I am not happy living with.
So I'd like to head eastward again and am looking for a new professional home.
Co kdybysme...? is a Czech phrase that means "What if we were to..?". It is used to suggest ideas and activities. It speaks of future plans.
